Background

Species Explorer was created in 2007 by Maxim Antinori and his development company, Max Media, Inc. The project sprang from Max's passion for the outdoors and his drive to use technology and educational media to reconnect us with the natural world.

Max Media is currently working with other natural science and educational organizations to make Species Explorer a rich, vibrant community of individuals who inspire each other to learn about wildlife by sharing their everyday observations. Beyond helping inspire others to learn more, the observations users submit have the potential to help scientific organizations keep track of species populations around the globe, from invasive species monitoring to census data.
